Big value little cost DIY home improvements Part 1

People can often feel the energy drain out of them when considering upgrading their home getting stressed at the thought of costs they can’t afford not to think of the disruption.
They often do not think of DIY home improvement options that will not create huge upsets in the home and can be done with little output of energy and pretty small costs.
A series of DIY options that can transform the way your home looks can include;

•    Re-Decorating -repainting the Paintwork – If you are re-decorating a room then it is better to start with the paintwork of doors and door surrounds (and window frames if they are painted). Make sure the surface is cleaned and smoothed down with energy before you start. If you don’t do this and just slap on the paint on the existing surface then it can look as though you have used a blackberry bush to apply the paint. It isn’t the talking point you want. You can use a gloss or eggshell (matt) finish though eggshell is more expensive. Be careful with the colour cards. Tempting Magenta may not look as good on the door as you envisaged.

•    Repainting the walls – walls become grubby and finger marked not to say depressing with out of date wallpaper. Some basic preparation and re-decorating the walls by painting them with matt or gloss emulsion can be the largest single contribution to upgrading how your home looks. It is no longer necessary to stick to magnolia; there are a number of choices of barely tinted whites and bright light colours you can use to lift a darkish room. Nowadays often people choose to pick out one wall in a colour to enhance the colour scheme. Don’t match with Tempting Magenta if you value your health. Clashing colour schemes can be dangerous to mental health!
